Unfortunately, it seems that a Business Pages lacks some of the functionality of a Profile. For example, your “like”ers don’t show up in your feed, only other Pages that you have “like”d. Also, in order to tag someone in a post/note/picture/comment/whatever, so far it seems like he or she must be one of your personal profile friends, else the @ dropdown doesn’t work. Have I missed some settings somewhere that can restore the 2-way communication that is so valuable for businesses?  Thanks for another great post!

    • Kat, the Facebook Terms of Use should draw this line clearly.  It states, no one can you as ‘Friend’ account to promote a business or use for marketing purposes.  This means that they can shut down your friend account without question.

I can agree, your use of ‘Friend’ account functionality is somewhat in the favor of the business but what you don’t realize is the potential a proper Facebook Page has to grow your business.

With the proper training, we can show you how to utilize everything in your arsenal as a Page, not as a friend.  It’s always the particular users who built their Business presence the same way they built their personal account that don’t realize the potential damage that may occur.

I wrote a great post on this.  Check it out here:

I am trying to figure out if you are able to retain your URL when migrating from a user profile to a business page, perhaps you know the answer?
